DNR's Cooperative Stand Assessment

The purpose of the DNR's Cooperative Stand Assessment project, is to get detailed information about particular stands of trees or groups of stands. A sampling technique is used to estimate volumes of timber, available under story regeneration, and overall condition of the stand. Itasca Woodland Services has inventoried tens of thousands of acres in this manner.
