What is it?

We provide free woodland property visits to landowners through a program called Call Before Your Cut to help you determine the species of timber on your land, provide recommendations for harvesting timber in your woods, and suggesting woodland management strategies for enhancing the property according to your goals and the best outcome for your woods and timber. If you have ever considered harvesting timber, this is the perfect option for you. Our visits last up to a half-day and will include professional forestry advice, as well as a packet of information containing land management/logging resources.

Is it really free?

Yes! Funds available from the Minnesota Forestry Association in conjunction with the State of MN cover all the costs and allow us to provide this service to landowners completely free.

Do I qualify?

If you own at least 20 acres of all or partially-wooded land in Minnesota, you qualify!

Who is it for?

The free Call Before You Cut visits we provide are for landowners who are interested in harvesting timber from their land (for any reason) or for those who would like to know the profitability of their timber.
